Overview

The Remote Box Enclosure houses LED drivers, emergency batteries, controls, and IoT devices in a watertight polymer housing mounted away from the fixture. A poly gasket seals the lid, and a built-in gear tray holds components in place for an organized install and easy servicing.

Moving drivers and electronics out of the fixture separates them from the heat of the LED boards. Lower operating temperatures on both sides help the LEDs maintain light output and extend the life of the driver and other components.

Conduit access points on each end allow a clean, sealed connection to any fixture, and optional 316 stainless steel mounting brackets are available for wall, ceiling, or structure mounting. The enclosure is NEMA 13 rated, NSF certified, UL 50 listed, and UL 1598 recognized, with a NEMA 4X version available as part number
RB-NRL-16-BLK-4X. It is suited for food processing, washdown, outdoor, and other wet or dusty locations, with a 55°C ambient temperature rating.

NEMA 4X Rated

NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) ratings describe how well an enclosure protects what's inside. NEMA 4X is one of the toughest ratings available.

What it handles: Windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water, and corrosion. The "X" in 4X means the enclosure resists rust and chemical damage from salt air, cleaning agents, and corrosive atmospheres.

Why it matters: Drivers, batteries, and controls stay protected in coastal areas, food plants with aggressive cleaning chemicals, and other environments where standard metal enclosures would corrode over time.

NEMA 13 Rated

NEMA 13 is an indoor enclosure rating designed for industrial environments where dust, oil, and coolants are present.

What it handles: Dust, lint, fibers, and flying debris, along with spraying, splashing, and seepage of water, oil, and non-corrosive coolants.

Why it matters: Ideal for manufacturing floors, machine shops, and processing areas where airborne particles and oil mist can damage drivers and electrical components.

NSF International Certified

NSF International sets standards for products used around food. Their certification means a product is safe to use in restaurants, food processing plants, and other places where hygiene is critical.

What they verify: The enclosure won't harbor bacteria, can be properly cleaned, won't contaminate food, and uses materials that are safe around food preparation areas.

Why it matters: Many health codes require NSF-certified equipment in commercial kitchens and food facilities. In food service environments it is often mandatory, not optional.

UL Listed

UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is one of the most respected safety testing organizations in the world. A UL listing means the product was sent to their labs, tested extensively, and verified to meet strict safety standards.

What they test: Electrical safety, fire hazard prevention, material durability, and proper construction.
