IP65 - Dust Tight & Water Jet Protected

The "6" means completely dust tight. No dust gets in, period.

The "5" means it can handle water sprayed from a hose. During testing, water is blasted at the fixture from all directions using a 6.3mm nozzle at about 3 gallons per minute for at least 3 minutes.

Best for: General outdoor use, parking lots, building exteriors, and covered wash-down areas. This is the most common rating for outdoor commercial lighting.

IP66 - Dust Tight & Powerful Jet Protected

The "6" means completely dust tight. No dust gets in, period.

The second "6" means it handles much stronger water than IP65. Testing uses a 12.5mm nozzle shooting about 26 gallons per minute at nearly 15 PSI from all directions.

Best for: Heavy-duty outdoor applications, food processing areas, marine environments, and places that get pressure-washed regularly.

IP67 - Dust Tight & Submersion Protected

The "6" means completely dust tight. No dust gets in, period.

The "7" means it can survive being underwater. The fixture is submerged in 1 meter (about 3 feet) of water for 30 minutes during testing.

Important note: IP67 is tested for submersion, not water jets. For high-pressure wash-down areas, IP66 is often a better choice.

Best for: In-ground fixtures, areas prone to flooding, mining operations, and severe weather locations.

F1 Rated Material (UL 746C)

This fixture uses F1-rated polycarbonate, which has been tested for long-term outdoor use.

What was tested: The material spent 1,000 hours under intense UV light (simulating years of sun exposure) plus 7 days soaking in 158°F water. After all that, it still had to keep its strength, impact resistance, and fire safety rating.

Why it matters: The lens and housing won't yellow, crack, or break down from years of sun and moisture exposure. Your fixture will look and perform like new for much longer.

UL Listed (UL 1598)

UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is one of the most respected safety testing organizations in the world. A UL listing means the product was sent to their labs, taken apart, tested extensively, and verified to meet strict safety standards.

What they test: Electrical safety, fire hazard prevention, material durability, and proper construction. For lighting, UL 1598 specifically covers luminaires (light fixtures).

Why it matters: Most building codes require UL-listed electrical equipment. It's your assurance that the fixture won't cause fires, electrical shocks, or other safety hazards when installed correctly.

RoHS Compliant

RoHS stands for "Restriction of Hazardous Substances." It's a set of rules from the European Union that limits dangerous chemicals in electronics.

What's restricted: Lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and certain flame retardants. These substances can harm people during manufacturing and pollute the environment when products are thrown away.

Why it matters: RoHS-compliant products are safer for workers who make them, safer for you to use, and less harmful to the planet when they're eventually recycled or disposed of.

NSF International Certified

NSF International sets standards for products used around food. Their certification means a product is safe to use in restaurants, food processing plants, and other places where hygiene is critical.

What they verify: The fixture won't harbor bacteria, can be properly cleaned, won't contaminate food, and uses materials that are safe around food preparation areas.

Why it matters: Many health codes require NSF-certified equipment in commercial kitchens and food facilities. It's often mandatory—not optional—for food service environments.

NEMA 4X Rated

NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) ratings describe how well an enclosure protects what's inside. NEMA 4X is one of the toughest ratings available.

What it handles: Windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water, and corrosion. The "X" in 4X means the enclosure resists rust and chemical damage from salt air, cleaning agents, and corrosive atmospheres.

Why it matters: Perfect for coastal areas with salt air, food plants with aggressive cleaning chemicals, or any environment where standard metal housings would corrode over time.

5-Year Limited Warranty

Complete Fixture Coverage (5 Years): SLP Lighting provides a five (5) year limited warranty on fully assembled luminaires bearing a complete SLP Lighting part number. This warranty applies exclusively to fixtures manufactured with SLP Lighting LED boards, drivers, and internal wiring, assembled and tested at our facility. Coverage includes defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and installation conditions per product specifications.

Component & Parts Coverage (1 Year): Individual components, replacement parts, and sub-assemblies sold separately—including but not limited to LED boards, drivers, lenses, housings, and wiring harnesses—are covered under a one (1) year limited warranty from date of purchase. This includes components purchased by OEM customers for integration into third-party assemblies.

Warranty Exclusions: Coverage does not extend to damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, unauthorized modification, operation outside specified parameters, or integration of SLP components into non-SLP assemblies. Warranty claims require proof of purchase and the original SLP Lighting part number.

Determining Coverage: The applicable warranty period is determined by the product configuration at time of sale. Purchase of a complete, factory-assembled fixture with a full SLP part number qualifies for five-year coverage. Purchase of individual components or parts qualifies for one-year coverage, regardless of end-use application.
